NOTE: Readers such as: SCR-331, GSR-202, GSR-202V, & GSR-203 could need firmware updates (NO OTHER Readers need firmware updates).

I just purchased SCM SCR3500 Smart Card reader so I am trying to use centrify to access AKO and email with my CAC. 1) I checked to make sure my Mac was finding the reader by going to About this mac --> system report --> hardware --> USB --> and I see the SCR3500 reader (it says version 2.02) 2) I have checked for the latest firmware on 4) Then I re-installed centrify following these instructions.

Hi kanitraj, The first thing to note is the SystemCACertificate keychain is used for trusting the certs found in your smart card, but if your card is not detected into the Keychain yet - then the SystemCACertificate does not come into play just yet. When you insert your card into your reader - do any indicator lights flash? There should be at least one LED on the reader to show card activity. Can you also check the part number of your SCR3500 reader - according to the militarycac.com page here: -.there may be two different versions of this reader sold, and an alternative driver is provided in the link above. Can you also tell us which version of OS X you are trying this on? Kind regards, Brian.

Hi kanitraj, Glad to hear you now have the reader working with OS X 10.11. Have you also made sure the SystemCACertificate is also properly loaded into Keychain Access? The full steps are in the 'Loading DOD intermediate certificates into the keychain' section of the Smartcard Express Online Help: - If the Keychain is properly setup, make sure your browser(s) are also configured to use the identity certs on the card. See the 'Configuring web browsers and mail clients' section of the same help documentation above.

If you are still seeing issues, please also check through the 'Troubleshooting tips and other topics' section and let me know how it goes. Kind regards. Hi John, How many certificates do you see on your smart card? If there is more than one - have you tried setting up the 'Identity Preference' with any of the other certs on your card?

The two examples we have are: Site: AKO Certificate type to use: Identity Cert Identity Preference URL: ( Trailing slash is important) Site: JTF-GNO Certificate type to use: Email Signing Cert Identity Preference URL: ( Lack of trailing slash is important) In some cases you may need to setup the ID Pref with an alternative certificate on the smart card. Just to make sure this is not a browser-specific issue - have you tried using an alternative browser as well? Kind regards, Brian. Brian, Sorry about the delay in responding.

Cac Card Reader For Mac

I have been playing with this for awhile today and still cannot figure anything out. When I instert my CAC card, it appears in Keychain access at the top left hand corner as just my full name now, it used to have CAC and my name in it if I remember correctly, not sure if this matters or not. But when when I click my name (CAC card) ---> then click 'My certificates'--> 3 certificates show up (they are all named my full name). When I click the certificates, the first one is 'issued by: DOD CA-32' the second one 'Issued by: DOD EMAIL CA-32' and the thrid one 'Issued by: DOD EMAIL CA-32' I have tried setting up the 'identity preference' with all 3 of them. I've tried using and and amongst others. Vlc player download for mac 10.6.8. None have worked.

I've tried on both Safari and Google Chrome. I'm sorry, but I don't know what you mean by using an alternative certificate for the identify preference, unless you're referring to setting up the identity preference on a different one of the 3 certificates I mentioned above, which I have tried. Hi John, The name that appears in Keychain Access when you insert your card is significant. We should be expecting a long string of numbers with a prefix of either 'CACNG', 'CAC' or 'PIV', for example: • CACNG-10 If you are only seeing your full name in that Keychain entry, then it suggests that OS X is using another tokend (driver) to decode the card, and not a Centrify tokend. I know you said before that you already went through the Cleanup and Reinstall steps - but that was before we got the card reader itself working with your Mac.
